Abstract
À partir d'une recherche sur la totalité du discours social français en 1889, l'auteur se demande où et comment se produisent dans la topographie discursive des idées et des formes qui échappent à l'emprise de l'hégérnonie et à l'acceptabilité dominante. Il distingue les nouveautés radicales des innovations ostentatoires ainsi que des réactivations d'éléments obsolètes. Il cherche à définir les notions de périphérie, de dissidence, d'hétérologie et de contrediscours. À partir d'exemples empruntés aux propagandes socialiste et féministe, il montre combien les notions d'impensable, d'indicible et d'inacceptable sont subordonnées à une acceptabilité strictement historique. La nouveauté n'apparaît jamais de façon franche ou nette, mais toujours dans la maladresse et l'abus de langage.
