Abstract
Résumé Face à des défis de taille posés par un environnement concurrentiel et en transformation constante, le Mouvement Desjardins a mis en place une approche par compétences visant à faciliter la gestion de ses ressources humaines. Parmi les transformations effectuées, notons une refonte du système de dotation centrée sur une approche de gestion des compétences. À la suite d’une analyse du contexte d’affaires et des orientations stratégiques, le Mouvement Desjardins a défini certaines fonctions centrales dans sa mission puis a dégagé, pour chacune d’elles, une série de compétences attendues. Grâce à une batterie de tests, il a pu évaluer les compétences des employés postulant chacune des fonctions. Une étude de validité prédictive a permis de constater que les outils d’évaluation utilisés pour les postes de vente-conseil possédaient un niveau de validité prédictive équivalent aux meilleurs outils répertoriés dans la littérature. Le calcul de l’utilité économique de cette approche a également permis au Mouvement Desjardins d’accumuler des gains importants. Le succès de cette expérience est mis en parallèle avec des expériences similaires menées dans d’autres secteurs d’activité.
