Abstract
Craig Ewert, a 59-year-old former university professor, had his last moments filmed by Canadian director John Zaritsky for his documentary The Suicide Tourist (2008) broadcast on 10 December 2008 on Sky Real Lives. The programme, which showed the act of assisting a suicide for the fi rst time on UK TV, has inevitably raised the topic of euthanasia and ignited the debate on assisted suicide once more. The fact that the main subject of the fi lm was a man suffering from motor neurone disease (MND) means that it has specific relevance for neuroscience nurses.
