Abstract
Cet article s’intéresse à l’imaginaire de la voix par le biais d’une figure importante de la fiction contemporaine, celle du savant, et à l’espace du laboratoire auquel il se voit naturellement rattaché. L’analyse porte plus spécifiquement sur deux textes, diamétralement opposés, pour montrer comment l’imaginaire du téléphone a pu provoquer des effets très contrastés : d’abord Châteaux de la colère d’Alessandro Baricco, qui met en scène un individu nommé Pekisch, sorte de proto-scientifique, expérimentateur patenté et créateur d’une variante du téléphone (nommé logophore) au xixe siècle, puis Le premier cercle de Soljénitsyne, qui situe une importante partie de l’action de son roman dans deux laboratoires de l’Institut de recherches scientifiques de Mavrino.
