Abstract
Le présent article entend dresser le parcours des Éditions internationales Alain Stanké dans le monde de l’édition, depuis sa fondation par Alain Stanké en 1975 jusqu’à sa vente au groupe Quebecor en 1997. Spécialisée dans l’édition de best-sellers en tous genres, l’entreprise se fait rapidement remarquer en France en 1978, grâce à l’obtention des droits exclusifs de publication en français des mémoires de l’ex-président Nixon, ce qui vaut à Stanké lui-même le surnom de « loup canadien » parLe Figaro. Mais la maison publie également un important fonds de « classiques » de la littérature québécoise, sous forme d’une collection en format de poche, qui assurent la légitimité culturelle de l’entreprise.
