2歳齢、避妊雌、体重4.0 kgのマルチーズが左側頭部腫瘤および進行性の右前肢不全麻痺を主訴に東京大学附属動物医療センターに来院した。MRI検査によって、頭蓋内へと成長し脳を圧迫する腫瘤が確認された。外科的に腫瘤を摘出し、腫瘤は骨の多葉状腫瘍と診断された。術後の経過は良好であったが、早期に再発が認められたため再度外科摘出を実施した。3度目の手術後からは放射線療法を開始し、腫瘍の原発巣には有効であったと考えられた。しかしながら放射線療法の終了した時点で肺転移が認められ、転移に対する抗癌剤療法は効果がなく、初回手術から約10ヵ月後に安楽死となった。
