Abstract
L’oeuvre et la vie de Pascal Quignard entretiennent des relations intimes avec la musique. Cet essai examine la parenté du geste musical et du geste littéraire. Il considère d’abord la dimension régressive de la musique quignardienne, où se donne à lire son affinité avec le discours de la psychanalyse, dont la fréquentation transparaît dans La leçon de musique . Ensuite, on identifie dans les relations respectives de la musique quignardienne avec le langage oral et l’écriture, l’influence de la réflexion anthropologique de Claude Lévi-Strauss. Si le référent utérin de la musique est aussi celui de l’écriture, on ne peut cependant parler de modèle musical. La musique, avec ses rappels universels des origines, sert plutôt de mémoire à une écriture qui se débat entre singulier et universel.
