Résumé Cette étude, fondée sur l’analyse d’interviews réalisées auprès de dirigeants d’entreprise, s’intéresse aux bouleversements qu’a produits dans la vente et le marketing l’émergence des nouvelles technologies de l’information et des communications (NTIC). Trois questions de recherche sont exprimées ainsi : quelle est la nature de l’objet d’échange – produit et/ou service – qui conduit les clients d’une entreprise à interagir de manière différenciée? Quels sont les objectifs de vente susceptibles de conduire à des interfaces commerciales distinctes en matière de NTIC? Quelle est la nature organisationnelle de l’interface des NTIC que choisit l’entreprise pour atteindre ses objectifs commerciaux? L’analyse de contenu réalisée sur la base des documents recueillis permet de proposer quatre portraits caractéristiques qui s’articulent autour des réponses obtenues à nos questions. L’étude se conclut par les quatre options stratégiques qui s’offrent aux dirigeants souhaitant mettre en place de telles interfaces par les NTIC, soit l’organisation d’une vitrine pour l’entreprise, l’organisation des frontières de l’entreprise, l’ouverture des frontières de l’entreprise ou la suppression pure et simple de ces frontières.
