Abstract
The controversy in the United Church about the eligibility of homosexual persons for ordered ministry has sharpened divisions in the Church about scriptural authority and theological method. I do not intend in this brief article to discuss, much less resolve, the complex ethics and theology of homosexuality and ministry. Rather I wish to focus on how the Church, desiring to be faithful to Scripture, makes up its mind on such questions. .
