Abstract
Les partitions chorégraphiques en notation Beauchamp-Feuillet qui citent en titre « Mlle Subligny » constituent le corpus de cet article. L’approche analytique et comparative permet de faire émerger une certaine figure chorégraphique employée par Marie Thérèse Perdou de Subligny (1666-1736) : l’ouverture de jambe. Et c’est ainsi en qualité d’interprète et personnalité incarnée (et non pas constituée par l’Histoire) que Subligny est innovante. Principalement citée par les sources comme la partenaire de Claude Balon, « Mlle Subligny » est aussi mentionnée dans les partitions dédiées à une danseuse soliste. Or, au titre de soliste, la figure qui émerge de ces partitions semble avoir été celle d’une danseuse novatrice et polyvalente ; elle fait un usage progressif d’une technique virtuose des jambes. Elle use par ailleurs d’une posture attribuée aux danseuses les plus célèbres : l’ouverture de jambe. Mettre la matière chorégraphique au centre de la recherche en danse permet à la fois de dresser un portrait, et de questionner la prétendue véracité de la figure représentée. Car une partition chorégraphique qui comporte des noms d’interprètes peut être considérée comme un espace, non pas de description, mais de représentation d’une figure.
