Abstract
This paper will discuss how an ambulatory blood pressure service was redesigned and moved into the community offering patients greater choice and access to diagnostics in a timely fashion. Waiting times were decreased for this particular diagnostic test from an average of 14 weeks to about 2 weeks. This has facilitated earlier diagnosis and treatment for the patients concerned and quicker reporting of the results to the General Practitioners (GPs). It has been well evaluated by both staff and users.
