Abstract
Présenter une figure, la montrer ou l'évoquer ne va jamais de soi.C'est que la figure appartient toujours à des ordres complexes, oscillant d'une imagerie collective à la singularité de son apparition dans un acte de lecture intime.Contrairement à un thème, à une image précise qu'on peut facilement identifier, voire à un événement historique, la figure est l'objet d'une reconstruction, constitué à la fois par la mémoire et par l'imagination, bribe d'un imaginaire qui s'incarne.Elle vient sédimenter un certain nombre de postures, de modes de structurations imaginaires qui l'éloignent des faits historiques.Elle impose plutôt une complexité discursive, une opacité, qui signale son importance pour les littéraires.C'est ainsi que la figure est avant tout carrefour de lectures, machine désirante, réseau de connexions imaginaires et identitaires, sériation de discours, genèse d'un sujet instable, précaire, que ce-soit sur le plan singulier ou collectif.
