Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

Time-delay estimation (TDE) is an important problem in radar target localization and range profile imaging. A common approach to TDE is matched filtering or equivalently cross-correlation, which is statistically optimal in white Gaussian noise. However, its performance greatly degrades in the presence of impulsive noise or non-Gaussian clutter. In this paper, a new concept called ℓ p -correlation (0 <; p ≤ 2), which generalizes the conventional correlation from Hilbert space to the ℓ p -space, is proposed. In addition, several important mathematical properties of the ℓ p -correlation are given and proved. Based on the ℓ p -correlation, a family of TDE algorithms robust against heavy-tailed noise or clutter are developed. Simulation results under a-stable noise are provided to demonstrate its robustness and accuracy.

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. Learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and 10,348 direct Gemma labels. Candidate is the union of thresholded teacher heads; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels or direct frontier model labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
