Abstract
In Brief Vision is normally the predominant sensory system used for guiding locomotion. Online visual control is critical for adjusting lower limb trajectory and ensuring proper foot placement. Research suggests that peripheral visual cues play a large role in this online control, particularly in challenging situations. Visual information is used online to plan and fine-tune the locomotor pattern.
