Abstract
Que peut-on dire de la fonction et de la posture de la philosophie vis-à-vis de la sociologie et de ce que celle-ci produit par son travail, notamment en ce qui a trait à la culture, aux imaginaires collectifs, aux représentations sociales ? En ce domaine, il est sans doute pertinent pour la philosophie de se livrer à des critiques ponctuelles et systématiques, ou encore à l'analyse épistémologique des théories et des discours. J'orienterai ici cependant mon propos dans une autre direction et, prenant les choses d'un peu plus haut, je risquerai des «mises » en déroulant une réflexion qui se relie à notre présente conjoncture. Il s'agit de se demander d'abord comment placer la philosophie dans la configuration d'aujourd'hui, et, par exemple, dans un contexte où les problèmes ont pour noms « culture », « nation », « État », et, à un autre plan, mais aussi essentiel, où des termes tels que « classes », « idéologies », « imaginaires », etc., et des théories telles que « marxisme », « structuralisme », « herméneutique », désignent les outils que nos savoirs manipulent et auxquels ils se réfèrent.
