Abstract
La psychanalyse est une pratique qui ne saurait se confondre avec aucune autre thérapeutique. Ce texte ne veut pas instaurer de hiérarchie entre différentes formes de thérapie qui ont leur champ propre, mais s’attache (en restant au plus proche de la lettre de Freud) à cerner les limites au-delà desquelles on ne peut plus appeler psychanalytique la clinique dont il s’agit. On se penchera d’abord sur l’engagement dans une analyse, pour ensuite dégager la particularité essentielle de l’analyste qui a consisté à « apprendre » son métier sur le divan, en faisant lui-même une analyse. C’est l’exigence qu’a toujours maintenue Freud, dont on décrira l’engagement pour cette pratique qu’il a découverte, défendue et retravaillée sa vie durant. Enfin nous indiquerons en quoi cette pratique intime rejoint aussi le collectif.
