Abstract
La question des déchets est devenue au fil du temps de plus en plus problématique en raison notamment de leur augmentation considérable. Cependant, la prise de conscience de la nécessité d’une gestion des ordures – ordures ménagères, excréments, boues, etc. – efficace n’est apparue que tardivement dans les esprits. L’objectif de cet article est donc de présenter, à travers une approche essentiellement bibliographique, la manière dont les humains ont cohabité et ont géré leurs déchets de la Préhistoire à la fin du XIXe siècle.
