Abstract
La question du vécu de l'expérience religieuse est extrêmement importante dans la perspective du psychologue analyste Carl Gustav Jung. Selon lui, la guérison exhaustive en psychothérapie implique le recouvrement d'une « attitude religieuse conforme à soi-même ». Or, une telle attitude est toujours conséquente à une expérience religieuse intérieure vécue par l'individu. L'expérience religieuse est pour Jung une expérience de l'union des contraires de la psyché, que sont le conscient et l'inconscient. La voie qui achemine le patient ou la patiente vers cette expérience est une pratique favorisant les rapports entre son conscient et son inconscient. L'efficacité de cette pratique est régie par la loi de l'énantiodromie, loi qui décrit l'effet d'un revirement d'une réalité unilatérale dans son contraire lorsque l'on pousse celle-ci jusqu'à sa limite. Ainsi, en assumant son contraire qu'est l'inconscient, et l'« ombre » que celui-ci abrite, l'individu s'approche de la lumière de la guérison. C'est au sein de la noirceur du mal absolu que porte son ombre qu'il se rend disponible à l'expérience du « sens ».
