Abstract
Dans cet article, Jean Morency étudie la survivance dans le roman québécois contemporain de la culture du Canada français, une culture caractérisée par sa relation particulière à l’espace nord-américain et sa remarquable mobilité géographique. Après avoir présenté les principales stratégies visant à inscrire le roman québécois dans le tissu géographique, social, culturel, linguistique et littéraire nord-américain, l’auteur tente de retracer, sur la base d’une hypothèse de nature psychosociale qu’il nomme le « retour de l’identité refoulée canadienne-française », les modes de filiation établis entre quelques romanciers contemporains (Michel Tremblay, Jacques Poulin et Nicolas Dickner) et un certain imaginaire de l’Amérique canadienne-française.
