Abstract
À l’instar de toutes les choses « vivantes », le développement de la participation universitaire exige une écologie institutionnelle qui résulte normalement de la présence d’hommes animés par les aptitudes et les habilités que nous allons décrire. L’épanouissement de la participation exige des hommes qui « ont le temps de prendre le temps », des hommes qui ont une confiance illimitée en l’homme, des hommes qui ont de généreuses racines sociales et institutionnelles, des hommes qui connaissent à fond le processus d’apprentissage, des hommes qui érigent leur crédibilité sur la compétence et qui savent que la crédibilité est le fondement de tout pouvoir. La participation est maintenant une cité habitable mais il nous reste à l’aménager et à préparer ses artisans compétents; les vrais maîtres d’oeuvre de demain pour tous les niveaux de l’enseignement et de la recherche se préparent aujourd’hui!
