Famille et parenté sont des sujets très chers à l'anthropologie. Cet article met en relief les changements et questions ontologiques ayant orienté ce domaine tout au long des années. D'un point de vue historique, nous revisitons tout ce qui va des perspectives théoriques classiques aux outils contemporains qui ont guidé cette discipline vers les nouvelles réalités ayant transformé la famille, la parenté et la parentalité. Notre regard se porte sur la comparaison entre adoption et procréation médicalement assistée pour mettre em relief les contributions permettant une meilleure compréhension des relations complexes constituant la famille d'aujourd'hui.
