Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The prevalence of cardiovascular disease is rising in adults younger than 50 and people of lower socioeconomic status, a study has found ( CMAJ 2009 Jul 20, doi:10.1503/cmaj.081629). “Our results indicate that young people are increasingly bearing the burden of cardiovascular risk factors,” said Douglas Lee, cardiologist and scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences, Toronto, and the study’s lead author. “This is an important group because they are the ones who will predict future heart disease, and earlier onset of cardiovascular disease means potentially longer and more intensive treatment over their lifetime.” The study sampled Canadians aged 12 years and older from all socioeconomic and ethnic groups from 1994 to 2005. The prevalence of heart …

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
