Critique de la " raison " sensorielle L'élaboration esthétique des sens dans une société himalayenne Certaines des tentatives récentes pour lancer une anthropologie des sens ont accepté l'impératif, tiré des écrits de Marshall McLuhan et de Walter J. Ong, d'établir une ratio, c'est-à-dire une proportionnalité sensorielle qui caractériserait chaque culture. Nous soutenons que cette approche limite l'investigation à des schémas établis et méconnaît à la fois la nécessaire pluralité des sens et la place de la culture dans l'expérience sensorielle. À travers une série d'exemples, dont le plus important est celui de l'élaboration esthétique de certains sens dans deux complexes rituels de l'Himalaya central, nous proposons une plus grande ouverture théorique dans ce domaine.
