Abstract
Quinze ans après le premier gouvernement de Ralph Klein, quels changements ont été apportés aux politiques sociales ? Que signifie le monde de Ralph Klein pour les familles en Alberta ? Est-ce que les conservateurs sous Klein ont simplement privatisé les mesures et les services qui s’adressent aux familles ? Ce texte vise à démontrer que la privatisation des services et des programmes sociaux signifie que les familles deviennent le pilier central de prise en charge des individus. Ce transfert vers les familles suit deux directions. D’abord, le gouvernement considère qu’il ne doit pas s’ingérer dans la vie des Albertains et des Albertaines. Ensuite, l’État, en privatisant les familles, instaure un ordre sociopolitique précis. Ces directions ont des effets contradictoires sur les familles.
