Abstract
La protection de la vie privée des salariés constitue une préoccupation récente en droit du travail : alors qu'elle était pratiquement absente de la législation sur le travail et des conventions collectives, elle s'y est néanmoins imposée à la faveur de la montée des normes internationales et de l’application des chartes des droits de la personne et des lois sur la protection des renseignements personnels. Elle pose des enjeux considérables non seulement au moment de la sélection du personnel, mais aussi dans la détermination des conditions de travail, notamment en matière de surveillance des travailleurs, d'administration d'examens et de tests de toutes sortes, de tenue des dossiers du personnel, ainsi qu'à propos des multiples intrusions dans la vie et les choix personnels et intimes des salariés.
