Abstract
Cet article porte sur le phénomène des jeunes adultes ayant terminé leurs études, occupant un emploi mais continuant à vivre chez leurs parents. Après avoir rappelé les principales orientations théoriques de cette recherche ainsi que la démarche méthodologique, l’article traite des motivations de ces jeunes à demeurer chez leurs parents et l’impact qu’a ce mode de vie sur leur définition de soi et sur la manière de se percevoir comme autonome ou non. Ensuite, les dernières parties sont consacrées aux principaux éléments qui favorisent le développement de l’individualisation de ces jeunes, c’est-à-dire leur capacité à se construire comme adulte autonome dans un rapport contraint par une certaine dépendance et par le respect de certaines normes parentales, mais également aux obstacles pouvant l’entraver.
