Résumé L’expansion des nouvelles technologies d’information et de communication (NTIC) à large échelle entraîne, au niveau des migrations internationales, des nouvelles stratégies de mobilité sociale et géographique ainsi que des mutations profondes dans les comportements sociaux liés au déploiement des ressources en situation migratoire. À partir du cas d’un espace virtuel qui se constitue en noeud de réseaux migratoires, ethniques et professionnels à la fois, l’article met en lumière l’usage que fait de cet espace une population particulière de migrants hautement qualifiés, les professionnels roumains de l’informatique émigrés à Toronto. L’article décrit le rôle novateur que ces migrants assument par le biais du capital humain et culturel dont ils disposent à l’origine. L’espace virtuel, doté du pouvoir associatif, devient un espace social de reconnaissance, de mobilisation des ressources et de reconstruction identitaire. Support de transfert, de reproduction et de conversion des capitaux en situation migratoire, cet environnement technologique fournit des outils créatifs d’organisation communautaire et diasporique.
