Abstract
Cet article analyse les contributions des chercheurs issus des courants institutionnaliste et cognitif à la construction des mesures de performance spécifiques aux institutions financières coopératives (IFC). Nous utilisons le concept de « chercheurs engagés » pour expliquer la dynamique de changement pouvant résulter de l’interaction avec les chercheurs et stimuler les IFC à renouveler leurs pratiques. Nous expliquons l’impératif de renouveler les pratiques, en exposant les dangers de la normalisation des modèles d’évaluation des institutions financières pour les IFC et le système financier dans son ensemble. En nous basant sur une étude menée au Canada, nous expliquons aussi la prédisposition des coopératives à réussir leur construction collective de sens et à se différencier, malgré un contexte normalisateur. La collaboration avec les chercheurs est une dimension d’une telle différenciation. Nous concluons que la collaboration avec les chercheurs peut constituer une importante source de renouvellement des connaissances, faisant des chercheurs un acteur du changement.
