Abstract In New York entsteht derzeit am 11 Times Square ein 40‐stöckiges Bürohochhaus mit einer neuartigen Stahl‐Glas‐Konstruktion für die über vier Stockwerke reichende verglaste Eingangslobby. Die hybride Fassadenkonstruktion besteht aus 16,5 m langen, stehenden Schwertern aus tragendem Glas mit Edelstahlgurten und die Queraussteifung erfolgt über die Glasscheiben der Fassade. Als weithin sichtbares Eingangselement wurde ein beleuchtetes gläsernes Prisma entworfen, das ebenfalls über vier Stockwerke reicht und die äußere Plaza mit der inneren Lobby verbindet. Darüber hinaus werden folgende Projekte unseres Büros kurz vorgestellt: – die Luminous Glass Shell der Bank of America, Charlotte – die Glastreppe für das Four Seasons Center of Performing Arts in Toronto – die Seilnetzfassaden für das 7 World Trade Center, den Freedomtower und das Time Warner Center in Manhattan.
