Abstract
Résumé La négativité du discours du personnage d'André Ferron dans L'Hiver de force de Réjean Ducharme n'a jamais été envisagée du point de vue du bavardage. Le nous de cette narration (qui englobe André et Nicole Ferron) ne peut jamais s'abstraire du bavardage collectif. Ce nous, c'est celui d'une nation qui bavarde sur elle-même, qui se commente à satiété, qui veut affirmer une parole à défaut d'avoir quelque chose à dire. Cette narration, poreuse en réalité, est sans cesse traversée par les bavardages de tout le monde, par les multiples discours aliénés qui, voulant imposer une idéologie, retournent sur la personne qui les énonce et ne fait qu 'exposer sa propre subjectivité. Ce nous réitéré, scandé sans fin, est tout sauf l'affirmation d'un sujet. Il s'agit plutôt d'un objet sans voix, pur produit communicationnel, traversé pas tous les discours sociaux, tous les bavardages d'une société de consommation qui refuse de hiérarchiser ses discours et préfère laisser surgir le chaos des voix à travers lequel peut aussi apparaître la pire des réactions politiques. Dans L'Hiver de force, et par ce bavardage "insensé", c'est peut-être d'abord la raison qui est enjeu.
