Au Quebec, les personnes malades ou dites en perte d’autonomie se sont vu reconnaitre differents droits. Mais cette reconnaissance formelle ne nous dit pas comment ces droits sont compris et appliques dans la pratique quotidienne, ni de quelle facon ils changent les rapports entre les soignants et les soignes. Nous degageons quatre grands types d’interpretation que l’on donne des droits dans les etablissements de sante et de services sociaux du Quebec, au sein d’instances chargees d’en assurer le respect. Ces differentes interpretations des droits sont liees a autant de rapports differents que la personne malade peut etablir avec les soignants, et de positions differentes qu’elle peut occuper au sein des etablissements. L’analyse des droits nous conduira ainsi a la question du sujet.
