L’éducation relative à l’environnement des adultes est une réalité difficile à cerner. Les pratiques éducatives sont peu documentées et les propositions théoriques sont peu nombreuses. Pourtant les adultes sont un public jugé prioritaire au regard des problématiques environnementales contemporaines. Prenant appui sur une revue de littérature, nous abordons l’éducation relative à l’environnement des adultes selon deux angles. Nous traitons d’abord de l’adulte en tant que citoyen et en tant qu’apprenant, étant donné l’influence possible de ces deux rôles sur l’éducation relative à l’environnement. Nous dressons ensuite un portrait de l’éducation relative à l’environnement des adultes. Ces divers milieux de déploiement seront étudiés à la lumière d’exemples québécois. Les quelques propositions théoriques développées pour les adultes en éducation relative à l’environnement, seront ensuite présentées et discutées.
