Grâce à une étude empirique de deux écoles, juive et musulmane, les auteures examinent le rôle de la variable religieuse au sein de la formation du citoyen proposée. Abordant dans une perspective croisée la référence à la religion, la place du pluralisme interne et externe dans l’enseignement et la conception du citoyen, l’analyse fait surgir des convergences inattendues entre les deux écoles, dont la volonté d’arrimer un ancrage identitaire à la transmission d’outils fondamentaux de la citoyenneté libérale.
