Le récit L’Hiver de force propose un univers de représentation faisant appel à des universaux. Nous cherchons à préciser comment ils sont transposés dans la fiction et comment celle-ci en arrive à négocier différemment son rapport au genre. Nous distinguons pour les besoins de l’analyse les plans narratorial, discursif et thématique, tout en nous préoccupant de l’instance de la réception. Après avoir circonscrit les divers paradoxes du récit ducharmien, nous procédons à l’analyse des effets de sens engendrés par la complexité de l’instance de la première personne du pluriel, en regard des composantes fantasmatiques du récit et du traitement réservé au langage. Une étude des composantes axiologiques permet ensuite de saisir les différentes stratifications du récit ; elle est suivie d’une interrogation sur la signification accordée au signifiant d’un titre anaphorique, La Flore laurentienne . Enfin, nous identifions les phénomènes de différenciation et de transposition et nous cherchons à les définir en les étayant sur les avancées de nos analyses.
