Abstract
Depuis l’éphémère « prison de réforme », établie à l’Île-aux-Noix en 1858, jusqu’aux actuels Centres jeunesse, un trait caractérise l’effort social de régulation de la jeunesse délinquante au Québec : le placement en internats spécialisés des cas les plus lourds. Malgré cette régularité dans la pratique de l’internement des mineurs, le visage des institutions varie considérablement au fil des ans. Observant l’emprise changeante des cadres thérapeutiques sur les voix et les corps des résidents, cet article fait ressortir une mutation importante. D’une thérapie qui invite à l’abolition de soi à une autre qui valorise son expression salutaire, le renversement normatif sera majeur.
