Abstract
Puisque la relation sociale est le fondement de la vie commune, elle est aussi la notion centrale de la sociologie. Dès lors, il est indispensable de conceptualiser cette notion, pour la rendre opérationnelle dans le travail de recherche empirique et pour construire autour d’elle une théorie de la société. L’article qui suit a pour but de proposer une telle conceptualisation : l’auteur tente de définir la notion de relation sociale, d’en distinguer les différents types, et de montrer comment elle permet d’articuler les sens culturels et les contraintes sociales.
