Résumé Cette communication veut examiner ce que Rem Koolhaas appelle les « villes génériques » et voir comment le fonctionnalisme des années 1950-1960 a transformé les mégapoles, désormais toutes hétérogènes, toutes faites d’un mélange de vieux centres historiques plus ou moins retapés et d’expansions infinies aux styles variés. Dans ce cadre, on peut s’interroger sur l’évolution de l’urbanisme parisien sans céder à la nostalgie. Face lumineuse, face sombre des mégapoles ! Ce qu’il nous faut, c’est une révolution du regard.
