Abstract
Une coupe dans un lobe de gélifluxion de la vallée de Nakvak (Torngats centrales) expose une succession de dia-mictons et de sols fossiles. Les âges 14C de trois des sols enfouis présentent une inversion (de bas en haut: 1575 ± 76 BP; 1350 ±90 BP; 2450 ± 380 BP). Les spectres polliniques de la coupe n'offrent aucune palynostratigraphie contrastée. Cependant, des variations majeures dans les concentrations polliniques semblent refléter, pour chacun des sols, la durée de la pédogenèse ainsi qu'une infiltration du pollen dans l'horizon minéral sous-jacent. Les âges des sols fossiles situent les périodes de gélifluxion durant les phases de refroidissements climatiques déjà proposées pour la région.
