Nous cherchons à voir comment s’articule, dans les discours identitaires en Acadie du Nouveau-Brunswick, l’ouverture de facto de la communauté acadienne d’ici à la francophonie venue d’ailleurs : quel impact cette mise en contact produit sur les représentations identitaires des francophones d’ici et d’ailleurs ? Pour ce faire, nous proposons un portrait croisé et une comparaison de deux groupes qui, de par leurs positionnements, peuvent refléter ces changements de représentations au sein de l’Acadie du Nouveau-Brunswick, à savoir les militants acadiens et les immigrants francophones. Malgré des points de tension et de divergence, notamment autour du poids accordé à la dimension ethnique de l’identité acadienne, nous avons constaté un terrain d’entente identitaire entre les deux groupes autour d’un lieu d’appartenance commun. En effet, si devenir Acadien demeure problématique pour les immigrants, l’intégration à la communauté d’accueil locale tend à prendre la forme d’une identification à l’Acadie comme espace de vivre ensemble.
