Abstract
Ce texte décrit le changement de démarche d'aménagement du territoire réalisé par un praticien à travers des expériences de travail concernant particulièrement le développement de la villégiature en milieu forestier. Constatant l'opposition publique face à des projets auxquels il a participé, l'auteur souligne la nécessité de revoir l'approche d'aménagement habituellement adoptée. Il propose un retour sur la notion de territoire lequel est défini comme le rapport à l'espace qu'établit un acteur (individu ou groupe social) par des actions concrètes ou abstraites. Il montre les limites d'une démarche traditionnelle qui pose un regard étroit sur le milieu. L'approche proposée se distingue de la précédente en ce qu'elle prend en considération les territoires des multiples acteurs touchés par un projet. Cette nouvelle approche repose sur une enquête et implique la participation des acteurs concernés à différentes phases du processus de planification et ce, dès ses premières étapes. L'auteur termine en soulignant que l'approche esquissée tend vers une démarche de type postmoderne de l'aménagement.
