Abstract
Cet article présente les conditionnements cosmogoniques et socio-historiques du rapport à la frontière entre deux communautés rurales voisines des Andes de la région de Chachapoyas (Pérou). Une analyse pluridisciplinaire de ce rapport montre que la fixation de cette frontière éloigne la réalité sociale de la situation idéelle d’équilibre entre moitiés complémentaires présentée dans la cosmogonie locale. Celle-ci est altérée par cette fixation de frontière en un discours idéologique de revendication de solidarité communautaire, identitaire et unitaire. Ce discours occulte la défense de privilèges dans l’accès aux biens fonciers, la recherche d’intégration sociale de personnes immigrées et la rigidification de découpages locaux par l’État central. L’auteur recourt pour développer son analyse et son argumentation à l’observation des gestes courants et des discours normatifs, à la tradition orale mythique, ainsi qu’à l’historiographie à partir de sources écrites en rapport avec le passé local, en confrontant l’apport spécifique de ces diverses approches à la thématique abordée.
