Conjugalité et fécondité des femmes canadiennes : un modèle dynamique estimé à l’aide d’une série de coupes transversales

Abstract
En économie du travail, un nombre croissant de propositions sont formulées en termes dynamiques. Pour tester ces propositions, on doit idéalement disposer de données longitudinales ou, tout au moins, rétrospectives. Cependant, des études récentes ont démontré que des données provenant de coupes transversales répétées dans le temps peuvent être utilisées pour estimer des modèles dynamiques. Suivant une approche proposée par Moffitt (1990, 1993), on construit un modèle markovien avec variables dépendantes discrètes pour analyser les décisions de formation des couples et de fécondité de rang un, deux et trois des femmes canadiennes. Ce modèle est estimé à l’aide de données tirées de l’Enquête sur les finances des consommateurs, une enquête ponctuelle répétée dans le temps.
