Abstract
Depuis quelques années, des affrontements opposant des jeunes dont les principaux modes de différenciation reposent sur l’ethnicité se produisent régulièrement en Corse. Leur apparition épisodique dans les débats publics français nourrit l’idée d’un lien entre nationalisme corse et racisme. Un regard généralisateur, voire parfois stigmatisant, est alors porté sur la Corse. L’étude des relations interethniques dans les villes d’Ajaccio et de Bastia permet de nuancer ces perceptions. Alors que la situation prévalant à Ajaccio laisse entrevoir la prégnance d’un racisme conservateur qui traduit les difficultés des classes moyennes locales en butte aux phénomènes liés à la globalisation, l’étude des relations à l’oeuvre dans l’agglomération bastiaise révèle des processus de résistance à l’entrée des personnes d’origine maghrébine dans l’espace des pratiques citoyennes.
