Abstract
Ce texte analyse la pertinence du concept de développement territorial pour la gouvernance des forêts publiques du Québec. Partant de l’idée que nous vivons présentement la crise du modèle industriel de la gestion forestière, l’article examine les signes d’une émergence d’un nouveau modèle, axé sur un développement territorial. L’article procède de deux façons : une analyse des politiques publiques et, ensuite, une étude de la pratique locale et régionale en matière des forêts. Cette étude des mécanismes locaux nous permet de conclure qu’il y a une certaine place donnée à l’expression des dynamismes territoriaux particuliers, autant la spécificité des dynamiques entre les acteurs locaux que les représentations territoriales de la forêt.
