Abstract
Nous nous intéressons ici aux scènes de repas entre amis qui apparaissent dans quelques romans comiques du XVIIe siècle. En exploitant les motifs propres au topos du banquet, les auteurs de notre corpus (Furetière, Dassoucy, Scarron et Cyrano) regrettent ou exaltent des valeurs qui lui sont traditionnellement attachées. Dans l’échange du boire et du manger se trouve ainsi figurés et éprouvés la relation qui se noue entre amitié et vie collective; les conditions de l’acception et de l’adhésion aux règles; enfin, le sens d’un compagnonnage de plaisir qui est aussi un accompagnement dans la mort.
