L'insertion au travail de personnes souffrant d'une maladie mentale: Analyse des caractéristiques de la personne

Abstract
Une étude prospective menée auprès de personnes souffrant d'une maladie mentale vise à identifier les déterminants significatifs de leur insertion au travail. Des analyses de régression et de comparaison de moyennes ont permis d'examiner les caractéristiques les plus saillantes de la personne pour expliquer son insertion socioprofessionnelle et ce, en considérant plusieurs indicateurs d'insertion au travail. Premièrement, les résultats indiquent que ce sont les variables reliées au travail (p. ex. l'engagement vers le travail) et sociodémographiques (p. ex. l'aide financière reçue) qui permettent de prédire l'exercice d'une activité de travail et l'obtention d'un emploi compétitif. Deuxièmement, 2 variables additionnelles permettent de prédire l'autonomie en emploi, c'est-à-dire le sentiment d'efficacité en matière de recherche d'emploi et de capacité à surmonter les obstacles à l'insertion au travail. Troisièmement, les variables d'ordre cognitif et clinique sont associées au délai pour débuter un emploi. Quatrièmement, le nombre d'heures de travail effectuées par semaine est expliqué par le sentiment d'efficacité à surmonter les problèmes de santé ainsi que d'autres variables motivationnelles et psychosociales. En conclusion, il est important d'identifier clairement les indicateurs d'insertion au travail afin de déterminer quels sont les prédicteurs significatifs.
