Abstract
Le débat autour de la viabilité urbaine est à la confluence de deux mouvements. Il s’agit en effet d’une volonté partagée tant par les gouvernements que par les citoyens. La mise sur pied de structures aptes à permettre à la population de participer réellement aux processus de prise de décisions constitue un élément indispensable à l’aménagement urbain viable. En outre, les décideurs doivent réussir à intégrer le sens commun et les incertitudes pour le développement viable des quartiers urbains. En se basant sur une expérience de terrain, cette étude illustre l’importance du développement, pour les professionnels, d’habilités à la communication, à l’animation, à travailler dans des contextes inter et transdisciplinaire et d’accepter l’importance des savoirs locaux - des compétences visant à devenir des révélateurs, des accompagnateurs.
