The authors present a new knowledge representation that can embed rules, frames and numerical models in an object-oriented environment, and problem-solving strategy based on the knowledge representation. The representation and problem-solving strategy can implement the architecture and functions of the meta-system. Currently, a powerful knowledge representation environment, namely Meta-COOP, has been developed using the embedded knowledge representation methodology. The Meta-COOP is coded in C, and run under UNIX, VMS and DOS operating systems for SUN workstation, VAX and PC 486 machines.
