Abstract
La diversification croissante des trajectoires des cadres est régulièrement rappelée mais jamais réellement décrite. Pour répondre à cette lacune, cet article propose la notion de « qualité de carrière. » Elle est présentée en fonction des évolutions des marchés du travail des cadres ainsi qu’en fonction des critiques adressées aux notions de succès objectif et subjectif de carrière. Une échelle de « qualité de carrière » est construite, testée et validée sur un échantillon de 784 cadres. Elle permet une perspective comparative et l’ouverture d’un débat sur l’hétérogénéisation, plutôt que la diversification, des carrières des cadres français.
