Relata-se um caso de cistite eosinofilica com metaplasia glandular em um canino macho da raca Labrador de sete anos de idade. O animal foi atendido no Hospital Veterinario da Universidade de Passo Fundo (UPF) com historico de hematuria e urina com odor forte. O paciente foi tratado com enrofloxacina na dose de 5mg.kg-1e meloxicam na dose de 0,1mg.kg-1. Como exames complementares, solicitaram-se hemograma, bioquimica serica e ultrassonografia abdominal, na qual foi observada massa em vesicula urinaria sugerindo neoplasma. Assim, o canino foi submetido a cistotomia. O material foi encaminhado para o Laboratorio de Patologia Animal da UPF, onde constatou-se massa irregular medindo 4x3,3x2cm, de coloracao acastanhada e consistencia macia a firme, por vezes, com alguns cistos pedunculares. Aos cortes, era de coloracao brancacenta e de aspecto fibroso e os cistos continham conteudo liquido pardacento. Na histopatologia a mucosa apresentava ulceracao extensa com inflamacao supurativa (neutrofilos e eosinofilos), por vezes, nao supurativa, alem de focos de hemorragia, hiperplasia acentuada do epitelio de transicao com formacao de invaginacoes e marcada metaplasia glandular. Na submucosa e muscular, foi observado intenso infiltrado inflamatorio constituido, predominantemente, de eosinofilos, numerosos vasos sanguineos, proliferacao de fibroblastos e colageno, e infiltrado linfoplasmocitario com formacao de nodulos. O diagnostico foi de cistite eosinofilica com metaplasia glandular. Em humanos, a cistite eosinofilica e uma doenca rara e idiopatica que ocorre em criancas e adultos de ambos os sexos, sugerindo uma patogenese humoral do tipo anafilatica. Nos caes, e uma lesao benigna, idiopatica, rara, que se caracteriza pela formacao de uma massa semelhante ao fibroma com intenso infiltrado eosinofilico. A hematuria e o sinal clinico mais comum, e em alguns casos, ha bacteriuria. A etiologia da lesao e desconhecida, contudo, aventa-se alguma relacao com casos de urolitos, neoplasias, reacoes anafilaticas ou outras lesoes primarias.
